Which Website Platform Should I Choose For My Business? Kajabi Websites vs. WordPress Websites

Which Website Platform Should I Choose with Sierra Lin Design | Kajabi Website Designer

My new clients frequently inquire about the best website platform for their budding business - As a website designer, it’s one of the most common questions I get. šŸ¤”

To some, it can feel like a big decision that will affect their business for years to come, and they subsequently tear their hair out trying to figure out what the BEST choice is.

Although there are several platforms to choose from, the most common options are
WordPress and Kajabi (and for good reason).

One thing to note is that BOTH platforms are a wonderful choice. Don't spend long hours researching the pros and cons of each platform and then agonizing over what you find.

Both Kajabi and WordPress are excellent platforms for your business and will serve you well regardless of your business model.
šŸŽ‰

When it comes to selecting a website platform, the answer is going to depend heavily on the nature of your business.

For example, do you sell products, courses, services, or all three? Do you prefer something that requires minimal customization out of the box, or do you want full creative control?

The Big Players - Kajabi vs WordPress

If you’ve read this far, you’ve probably narrowed your search down to these two powerhouse platforms. Yay you! šŸ‘

Overall, Kajabi is great for creating membership sites or selling digital course products, while WordPress is a more versatile platform for creating any kind of website with robust capabilities. And good news: You can create beautiful page designs in both!

So, if you are looking to create a membership site or sell course-style products, Kajabi is a great choice. It is an all-in-one platform that provides you with the tools and features you need to get your business up and running quickly.

If you are looking for a more flexible platform that allows you to customize your website to your exact needs, then WordPress is a great option. It is an open-source platform that gives you complete control over the look and feel of your website.

To decide which platform is right for you, it is best to take some time to think about the needs of your business and what you expect from your website. Weigh the pros and cons of each platform and decide which best suits your needs.

Here are some tips to help you decide:

WordPress – Is basically limitless. With the ability to custom code or install a myriad of plugins, you can do anything from creating your own shopping cart to hosting your own blog or forum. One of my favorite WordPress launches was Ati’s beautiful site, check out her blog here.

That said, there is some skill required for all of this customization, and you’ll most likely need to hire help to assist with projects and manage your site. WordPress is not self-hosted, meaning you will also need to purchase separate hosting (but it’s usually very affordable).

Kajabi – Is an all-in-one self-hosted platform. Pretty much everything you need, all in the same place. Not only is your website and blog hosted there, but your customer and subscriber lists are too! AND you can create courses natively from your Kajabi dashboard.

WordPress – Is the king (or queenšŸ‘ø) of SEO. If you know you’re going to rely heavily on optimizing for SEO, WordPress is your best bet.

Kajabi – Is easier to set-up and manage yourself, but you are somewhat constricted on customization and SEO.

WordPress – Is affordable to set-up, but the learning curve is a lot steeper when you really get into the nitty gritty stuff.

Regardless of what you choose, you can rest easy (or more easily, I know you have a lot on your beautiful business brain), knowing that both platforms are excellent choices.

The best part? Any Sierra Lin Design client gets my expert analysis of their situation to help you choose the best platform for your business, and then ultimately make sure you have a website and brand that is authentic to you and magnetizing to your audience. Woot! šŸ„³
